Today I attended a breakfast business networking group in Pontesbury, near Shrewsbury. There were about 20 business people there, all with a different type of business. I was asked if I would give a talk on what I do. As with all the talks I do to different groups of people, I explained the differences and similarities of ‘stage hypnosis’ and hypnotherapy. The group were really interested especially after I asked them to join in and I had them taking part in suggestibility test, a way of finding those easily or highly suggestible people in the audience, this is something a stage hypnotist will do to find his ‘victims’ I mean participants. For me it is a way of finding possible volunteers who maybe willing to be hypnotised.
Luckily there were a number in the group who would have made good hypnotic subjects of which two volunteered to give it a go. I put both into a trance like state and with one I had him believe that his right hand was glued to different parts of his body. I do this to demonstrate the power of hypnosis.
I think everyone in the room was amazed.
Lots of good questions asked and there were two people in the room who had stopped smoking after seeing a hypnotherapist.
